Hello World!

This is my first time playing around neocities and for the most part, html. A little scary as someone who never really learned html, I was always that one kid on neopets that had no idea how people were doing this! I think I would love to learn more, especially since some neocities sites look incredible. At least I took that first step! Even though I'm technically using zonelets to make this blog happen...

You'd think that neopets would be the thing that pushed me to actually take a dive into html, and I'd be building my own stuff already. But I was just a silly kid who didn't want to put as much effort into my neopets as much as others did apparently. No. My main push was actually the dead internet theory, and how everything online feels less authentic because it is either clout chasing, bots, or just straight up misinformation that no one wants to correct. I kind of figured making my own blog on something like neocities could help curb the ragebait I see daily, especially since I can't see another person's social media post from here.

While I was tweaking all my settings, I ended up breaking stuff already 😅
But hey, if you aren't breaking something or messing something up, are you REALLY taking a deep dive into it?

11:02PM update

I managed to update my about page, after a lot of confusion and stress wondering why my image was breaking through the theme border... I have to admit, breaking through broken html things feels rewarding in a way. Almost like opening a new package. I do think for now I would prefer to keep this a nice simple looking site, especially while I start learning more of the basics. My tumblr theme is different, I didn't want to try to learn how to deal with an active social media website as a beginning step so I just used someone else's premade theme. At least here I have nothing to really worry about except my own imagination and ideas for layouts.
